Statement to Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander People

YCollab acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first Australians and their continuing connection to land, water and community. We recognise that the colonial acts of dispossession of First Nations people from their unceded lands, settlement and, policies of racial discrimination continue to manifest as social and economic disadvantages experienced by First Nations communities today.

YCollab is committed to reconciliation in all its facets within our capacity. As part of this commitment, we intend to:
• Continue to build on our cultural competence in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• Ensuring a culturally supportive and safe environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to be their best and authentic selves
• Celebrating the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• Adopting a strengths-based and culturally appropriate approach in all of our projects

This Statement is the first of YCollab’s journey in working towards reconciliation. Moving forward, YCollab seeks to ensure that our work will create a positive impact for First Nations communities.
